Position Overview: We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to join our team in Surrey, BC OR Calgary, Alberta for a 12-month hybrid contract , with some flexibility required for evening and weekend support.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities The role focuses on hands-on Windows infrastructure support , including:

• Resolving service desk and infrastructure tickets
• Administering Active Directory, Group Policy, and NTFS permissions
• Windows Server patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Supporting DNS, DHCP, DFS, and Windows security
• Supporting Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID/AD Connect, Intune, Defender, and MFA
• Supporting VMware environments
• Using PowerShell for administration and automation
• Supporting endpoint management, vulnerability remediation, backup/DR, and infrastructure maintenance
• Troubleshooting incidents, performing root-cause analysis, and documenting resolutions
• Participating in on-call and after-hours support

Key Requirements

• 3–5+ years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support experience
• Strong hands-on Active Directory and Windows Server experience
• 3–5+ years supporting Windows Server, Azure, and Microsoft 365
• Experience with VMware
• Strong understanding of NTFS permissions, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and Windows security
• Strong Windows security fundamentals, including endpoint protection, server security, and patch compliance
• Experience with Entra ID/AD Connect, Intune, Defender, MFA, and hybrid identity
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills
• Experience supporting enterprise environments; preference for candidates who have supported 100+ Windows users
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and customer service skills
• Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for occasional BC onsite visits
• Comfortable with on-call and after-hours support

Preferred: Citrix VDI, HPE Synergy, HPE SimpliVity, Cisco UCS, and project management experience.
