Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products (SPEP) designs, manufactures, and proudly distributes high quality, cost-effective industrial hardware components B2B. As an ISO-certified industrial hardware company, our vision is to bring growth and stability to our customers through sustainable methods of engineering, service, and value.

Position Summary

The position supports employees, business systems, cloud services, computers, and basic networking, with a strong focus on resolving everyday technology issues for users across the company. The successful candidate will independently handle routine support and administration, work closely with employees at all levels, and partner with senior IT staff on more complex matters. Own the reliability, scalability, automation, and performance of SPEP's enterprise platforms while continuing to lead day-to-day IT Service Management execution and Service Desk operations. This is a hands-on junior IT role for someone with the practical experience to contribute from day one.

Here’s what you’ll do:

·      Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to meet deadlines, support system maintenance, or respond to critical issues.

·      Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet critical deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.

·      Occasional travel may be required based on business and project needs.

·      Serve as a reliable first point of contact for everyday employee technology needs, providing responsive and practical support.

·      Own day-to-day Service Management execution, Level 1, and 2 in Jira Service Management, including triage, request and incident handling, prioritization, communication, and service-level performance.

·      Configure and administer Jira Service Management, including users, permissions, queues, workflows, forms, dashboards, and basic reporting.

·      Set up and support computers, accounts, printers, phones, and workplace technology with limited supervision.

·      Use Microsoft Copilot and other Microsoft AI-assisted tools to improve support, documentation, research, and routine workflows.

·      Help users adopt AI tools safely and effectively, following company security and data-handling requirements.

·      Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues; escalate complex problems with clear documentation.

·      Maintain accurate hardware inventory, software records, and IT documentation.

·      Assist with patching, backups, security, cloud systems, servers, and network maintenance.

·      Learn and support all areas of SPEP’s IT infrastructure, take ownership of basic IT projects, and steadily expand technical responsibility.

·      Perform routine administration in Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, and user access.

·      Use Service Management data to reduce recurring demand, improve knowledge, automate common work, identify Problem and RCA opportunities, and improve service outcomes.

·      Drive SPEP Hardware Asset Management to new and improved standards

·      Own Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, endpoints, and user access.

·      Administer and support SPEP's hybrid environment across Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, on-premises infrastructure, networking, and connectivity.

Here’s what you will bring to the table:

·      Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

·      3-4+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, networks, endpoints, and Microsoft 365 environments, and Jira Service Management, including ownership of complex Level 1 support with Level 2 coordination/facilitation.

·      Understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems, TCP/IP networking, DNS, and DHCP.

·      Working experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Windows, Entra ID, Teams, user accounts, computers, printers, and common business software.

·      Practical experience using Microsoft Copilot and other Microsoft AI-assisted tools in a business environment.

·      Proven ability to independently diagnose and resolve common user, device, software, and connectivity issues.

·      Comfort working directly with employees on routine day-to-day problems, including patient follow-up and clear explanations.

·      Practical knowledge of networking, cloud services, security, backups, and device management.

·      Strong organization, communication, documentation, ownership, and customer-service skills.

·      Self-starter who follows established procedures, knows when to escalate, remains hands-on, and is motivated to learn the full IT environment and develop toward broad technical expertise and greater ownership over time.

·      IT, Microsoft, or Atlassian certification is helpful but not required.

·      Experience operating or materially improving an IT Service Management environment, including incident and request management, SLAs, escalation, knowledge, problem/root-cause analysis, change controls, asset management, and reporting.

·      Strong troubleshooting, documentation, prioritization, and customer-service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with employee owners, business partners, vendors, and technical teams.

·      An ownership mindset: resourceful, accountable, collaborative, security-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement in an onsite manufacturing and distribution environment.

·      Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator, or comparable cloud, networking, security, or IT service-management certification preferred, not required.
