We are looking for a Junior System Engineer to support Enterprise Services team in maintaining and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure, endpoints, cloud services, security tools, and business-critical operational environments.
This is an entry-level role suitable for a fresh graduate or early-career IT professional who is eager to learn, hands-on, and able to work in a fast-paced IT operations environment supporting HQ, Data Centres, branches, agencies, and key enterprise platforms. The candidate will work closely with senior engineers and other teams to support day-to-day operations, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain proper documentation, and gain practical exposure to Magnum’s on-premises, private cloud, Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoint, backup, and security environments.
Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure Support: Assist in the day-to-day support and maintenance of Magnum’s IT infrastructure across HQ, Data Centres, branches, agencies, and related business locations, including servers, workstations, operating systems, and supporting tools.
- Endpoint and User Device Support: Support desktop, notebook, printer, mobile device, and user access issues for corporate users and operational teams, ensuring timely troubleshooting and proper escalation where needed.
- Enterprise Services Support: Assist in supporting Magnum’s enterprise platforms and services, including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure services, Azure Virtual Desktop, endpoint management, backup solutions, monitoring tools, and other business-critical systems.
- Private Cloud and Server Operations: Support senior engineers in basic administration, monitoring, patching, and health checks for on-premises, virtualized, and private cloud environments to ensure system availability and stability.
- Draw-Day and Operational Support: Provide support during critical business operation windows, including draw-day or extended support periods, to help ensure IT services, connectivity, and user systems are functioning properly.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Support: Assist in diagnosing and resolving system issues by checking logs, performing basic testing, identifying possible root causes, documenting findings, and escalating incidents to senior engineers or relevant teams when required.
- Security, Patch, and Compliance Support: Support routine security activities such as antivirus updates, security patching, access verification, vulnerability follow-up, system hardening checks, and compliance-related evidence collection where applicable.
- Network and Connectivity Support: Assist in basic troubleshooting of network connectivity, VPN, Wi-Fi, branch connectivity, and system access issues, and coordinate with the network team or vendors for further investigation where necessary.
- Documentation and Operational Records: Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, support procedures, troubleshooting steps, asset information, change records, and daily operational activities to support proper IT governance and continuity.
- Team and Vendor Coordination: Work closely with infrastructure, network, application, information security teams, as well as external vendors, to support issue resolution, implementation activities, and smooth service delivery.
- Continuous Learning: Continuously build hands-on knowledge in Magnum’s IT environment, enterprise tools, cloud platforms, cybersecurity practices, and operational support processes through guidance, training, self-study, and practical experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience in system support will have an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, operating systems, and security concepts.
- Exposure to cloud solutions, virtualization, Windows/Linux support, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Veeam Backup, Azure Virtual Desktop, or mobile device management will be an added advantage.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work with users and other IT teams.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, while being open to guidance and teamwork.
- Positive working attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to travel to branches or business locations and work outside normal office hours, including weekends or draw-day support windows, when required.
