Junior Technician

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

A. Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS)

1. Assist in the performance of scheduled Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) according to prescribed procedures.

2. Perform basic inspection of vehicle components and systems under the supervision of a qualified technician.

3. Assist in checking and servicing engine oil and other fluids, filters, battery condition, tires and tire pressure, lights and basic electrical functions, brakes and other basic mechanical components, belts, hoses, and related components.

4. Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, tightening, and adjustment activities as instructed.

5. Assist in the replacement of serviceable maintenance parts and consumables.

6. Report any abnormal vehicle condition, damage, leakage, noise, or malfunction to the assigned technician or supervisor.

7. Ensure that all PMS activities are performed according to applicable service procedures and specifications.

B. Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)

8. Assist in conducting Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of new or incoming vehicles.

9. Inspect the vehicle's basic mechanical, electrical, exterior, interior, and safety-related items according to the prescribed PDI checklist.

10. Check basic vehicle functions such as exterior and interior lights, horn, wipers and washers, instrument panel indicators, air-conditioning operation, doors, locks, windows, and other basic controls, and tire condition and pressure.

11. Assist in checking fluid levels and basic vehicle conditions.

12. Report any defects, missing items, damage, or abnormalities identified during PDI.

13. Assist in correcting minor findings within the scope of the Junior Technician's competency.

14. Ensure that completed PDI checklists are properly accomplished and submitted.

C. Workshop Support

15. Assist Senior Technicians and Technicians in repair and maintenance activities.

16. Prepare required tools, equipment, parts, and materials before starting assigned work.

17. Return tools and equipment to their proper locations after use.

18. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned work area.

19. Assist in the proper handling, storage, and disposal of used parts, fluids, and workshop materials.

20. Support vehicle movement and positioning within the workshop as directed by authorized personnel.

21. Assist in road-test preparation and other workshop activities when authorized and properly supervised.

D. Vehicle Care and Protection

22. Exercise proper care when handling customer and company vehicles.

23. Use appropriate protective covers and other vehicle protection materials during servicing.

24. Prevent unnecessary damage, contamination, or deterioration of vehicle components and interior/exterior surfaces.

25. Report any pre-existing or newly identified vehicle damage immediately to the assigned technician or supervisor.

26. Follow proper vehicle key-control and workshop vehicle-handling procedures.

E. Safety and Compliance

27. Follow all applicable workshop safety rules and procedures.

28. Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

29. Use tools and equipment only for their intended purpose and within the technician's level of competency.

30. Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged tools, spills, accidents, or potential hazards.

31. Follow proper procedures when working around vehicle electrical systems, batteries, lifting equipment, and other workshop hazards.

32. Maintain good housekeeping in the assigned work area.

33. Comply with company policies, workshop procedures, and applicable automotive service standards.

F. Documentation and Reporting

34. Properly accomplish assigned inspection and maintenance checklists.

35. Record inspection findings accurately and completely.

36. Immediately communicate abnormalities and repair findings to the assigned technician or supervisor.

37. Assist in maintaining accurate service and inspection records.

38. Ensure that completed work is properly endorsed before the vehicle is released to the next process.

V. Authority and Limitations

· May perform basic maintenance and inspection tasks assigned by a qualified technician or supervisor.

· Shall seek assistance when a task exceeds their competency or authorization.

· Shall not independently perform complex diagnosis or repairs without appropriate supervision.

· Shall not modify, bypass, or disable vehicle safety systems or workshop safety devices.

· Shall immediately report technical findings that require higher-level diagnosis or repair.

Shall follow the instructions of the assigned Technician, Senior Technician, or Workshop Supervisor regarding technical procedures and work assignments.

Pay: Php19,500.00 - Php20,000.00 per month
