About Us

Lens of Lights is one of the UK’s leading wedding storytelling teams. We create personalised and cinematic wedding experiences that clients remember for a lifetime — and we’re looking for an beginner videographer to join us on a freelance contract basis. This position is ideal for a new or graduate photographer looking for a springboard into the industry.

What You’ll Do

• Capture full-day weddings across various locations in the UK.
• Shoot with a focus on raw emotion, elegance, and genuine moments.
• Work with various equipment to hone your skills.
• Collaborate with our videography team for seamless sequences.
• Submit raw files or pre-selected shots after the event (we take care of the editing).

What You Must Have

• Your own full-frame camera bodies (at least two).
• A wide lens and a telephoto lens.
• Public Liability Insurance (required for venue access).
• Professional Indemnity Insurance.
• Access to their own vehicle, with valid UK license.
• Excellent time management, people skills, and calmness under pressure.
• Must pass a trial wedding shoot before official bookings.

Compensation

• £15 – £30/hour, based on experience and performance.
• Subsidised travel expense.
• Payment after the event via direct transfer to account.

Job Progression Route
There are three pay scale within the company.

• Junior Videographer: You will be shadowing and assisting the Lead Videographer at events, for a pay of £15/hour. If you have performed well in this position at two consecutive events, you will be moved up as the Lead Videographer.

• Lead Videographer: You will be leading the video aspect of the event, for a pay of £20/hour. You will be shadowed by senior member of staff to monitor your performance as somebody leading the video team. If you have performed well in this position at two consecutive events, you will be moved up as the Senior Videographer.

• Senior Videographer: You will be going to events and be the solo videographer that can be trusted to take care of the entire videography of the event on their own. Pay rate is £30/hour.

Availability

• Events may be booked on any day — weekday or weekend.
• You’ll always get advanced notice ahead of time.
• This is a per-event contract role (no minimum hours).
