Junior/Entry-Level Geotechnical Lab Technmician

GeoPro, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Entry-Level Geotechnical Laboratory Technician for our Chantilly, VA laboratory. This position is ideal for candidates interested in soil mechanics and materials testing. Complete internal training is provided!

General Responsibilities:

· Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager and Project Engineers, the candidate will be trained to perform standard geotechnical and materials laboratory testing

· Perform laboratory testing on soil, rock, aggregate, and concrete samples (e.g., Grain Size Analysis/Atterberg Limits, Moisture Content, Proctor Compaction, Sieve Analysis, Unconfined Compression).

· Log, prepare, organize, and track soil and material samples received from field operations

· Accurate recording and processing of test data into company software and reporting tools.

· Maintain clean, safe, and organized laboratory facilities and test equipment.

· Assist with routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and QA/QC verification procedures.

· Adhere strictly to laboratory safety protocols and standard ASTM/AASHTO testing guidelines.

Requirements:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field is beneficial and highly regarded.

· Prior lab or construction experience is beneficial, but Entry-Level candidates willing to learn are highly encouraged to apply.

· Certification Requirement: Must be willing and able to obtain relevant laboratory testing certifications (e.g., ACI Concrete Laboratory Certification and ASTM Soil Laboratory Technician) within 60 to 90 days of hire (training and exam support provided).

· Strong manual understanding and physical ability to lift and move sample bags/buckets weighing up to 40 lbs.

· Basic proficiency with computers, spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel/Word), and data entry.

· Strong attention to detail, reliability, and clear written/verbal communication skills.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
