Junior/Trainee Dental Assistant & Receptionist

Casual | 1–3 days per week | Tuesday–Friday

Our busy specialist orthodontic practice is looking for an enthusiastic Junior/Trainee Dental Assistant & Receptionist to join our friendly team.

No dental experience is required. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the dental industry, with the potential to undertake a Certificate III in Dental Assisting.

About the role

Working alongside our orthodontists, dental specialists and oral health therapists, you will be trained across both clinical assisting and reception duties.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing chairside assistance to our clinicians
• Preparing treatment rooms and following infection control procedures
• Welcoming patients and families to the practice
• Answering phones and responding to emails
• Scheduling and confirming appointments
• Assisting with diary management and patient flow
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• General reception and administrative duties
• Building positive relationships with our patients and their families

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Is friendly, positive and confident communicating with people
• Is reliable, organised and able to work in a busy environment
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Is willing to learn, take initiative and work as part of a team
• Can work independently
• Has successfully completed the HSC
• Is available 1–3 days per week between Tuesday and Friday

Previous dental experience is not required- attitude, reliability and a genuine interest in developing a career in dentistry are most important.
