K-8 ELA Tutor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable English Language Arts (ELA) Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of various subjects, including but not limited to Elementary and Middle School level English Language Arts (ELA). This role involves working one-on-one with students to enhance their learning experience, build their confidence, and help them achieve their academic goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
• Implement lessons from Auburn Tutoring personalized curriculum plan to help students reach their learning objectives.
• Assist students in understanding complex concepts in English Language Arts (ELA).
• Employ various teaching methods to engage students effectively and accommodate different learning styles.
• Monitor student progress and adjust tutoring strategies as needed to ensure comprehension and retention of material.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student tutoring progress and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed academically through tutoring.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
• Experience in working with students with different behavioral/emotional needs
• High School Diploma, equivalent or above.
• Complete in-person training at Auburn Tutoring location in Auburn upon hire (paid training)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
