Role Summary:

We are hiring an experienced L1/L2 Confluent Kafka Support Engineer for a BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) client environment. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Kafka administration, Red Hat Linux, and cluster support to ensure high availability and performance of critical messaging infrastructure in a production BFSI setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 production support for Confluent Kafka environments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve Kafka cluster issues (Brokers, Zookeeper/KRaft, Topics, Partitions)
• Manage Producers, Consumers, and Consumer Groups; troubleshoot consumer lag
• Perform Kafka cluster health checks, capacity monitoring, and performance tuning
• Handle incident management, root cause analysis, and timely issue resolution
• Support Kafka upgrades, patching, and configuration changes
• Work on Red Hat Linux (RHEL) environments for OS-level troubleshooting and administration
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Infra, App, DBA, Network) for issue resolution
• Ensure adherence to BFSI compliance, security, and audit requirements
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and support documentation
• Participate in on-call/shift-based support rotations as required
