Position Title: Karate Instructor

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM or Friday from 1:30-2:30 for 2026-27 school year
Location: Rotating across four Charlotte-area program sites
Class Duration: Two 45-minute sessions per week, serving different locations

Overview:
The Discovery Lounge is seeking dynamic and passionate club leaders to lead karate and enrichment classes for elementary students (K–5). This role is ideal for individuals with a background in youth programming, physical education, performing arts, or childcare who are excited to inspire and engage young learners through movement, creativity, and discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engaging, age-appropriate Karate, sessions for K–5 students
• Create a safe, inclusive, and structured environment that promotes skill-building and fun
• Rotate weekly between four program sites, maintaining consistency and professionalism
• Communicate effectively with site staff and follow all program protocols
• Arrive prepared, punctual, and ready to lead with enthusiasm and care

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with children in educational, recreational, or enrichment settings
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites
• Strong classroom management and group engagement skills
• Background in martial arts, dance, music, cheerleading, physical education, or similar fields preferred
• Ability to work independently while aligning with program goals and expectations

Compensation:
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. The rate will be discussed during the interview process and is based on experience and club type.
