Kennel Attendant

This job requires no prior experience, though experience is always preferred.

Candidates must be comfortable with dogs of ALL sizes and breeds.

Job entails:

Position Overview:
We are looking for reliable, hardworking, and compassionate Kennel Attendants to join our team. This role is hands-on and essential to the daily care, cleanliness, and wellbeing of our dogs.

Responsibilities:

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of kennels, runs, and common areas
• Feeding and providing fresh water to all dogs
• Monitoring dogs for changes in behavior or health and reporting concerns
• Assisting with medication administration as directed
• Walking dogs and supporting enrichment activities
• Maintaining a low-stress, fear-free environment
• Laundry, dishes, and general facility upkeep
• Supporting medical and adoption teams as needed

Qualifications:

• Passion for animal welfare and rescue work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and medical needs
• Ability to follow protocols and take direction
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Previous animal care experience is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 40+ lbs
• Standing, walking, bending, and cleaning for extended periods
• Working in a kennel environment (noise, odors, cleaning chemicals)

Candidates should: be flexible, willing to listen and learn, comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds, good with the public, good attitude, team player, have the ability to work weekdays AND on weekends, reliable, able to excel in a fast paced, stressful environment.
