Join our team as a Kennel Manager, where you'll lead the daily operations of our pet care facility with enthusiasm and dedication. You would share management responsibilities with one other person, leading the team 3-4 days per week. This role is perfect for someone passionate about animal welfare, with a knack for team leadership and excellent customer service. As Kennel Manager, you'll oversee pet boarding, ensure the highest standards of animal care and sanitation, and create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pets and clients alike. Your energy and proactive approach will help us deliver exceptional pet care experiences while maintaining efficient facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily kennel operations, including pet intake, boarding, feeding, cleaning, and discharge processes
• Create the schedule for the other kennel technicians, and be the person they report to
• Hire new kennel technicians in conjunction with the owner as needed.
• Lead and motivate a team of pet care staff, providing training on animal handling, restraint techniques, and sanitation protocols
• Ensure all animals are handled safely using proper animal restraint and handling procedures to prevent injury or stress
• Maintain a clean and sanitized environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to pet grooming standards
• Manage pet boarding reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and client communication to enhance customer satisfaction
• Conduct outdoor work such as yard playtime, exercise routines, and ensuring secure fencing for animals’ safety
• Coordinate with your co-manager and owner when problems arise.

Requirements

• Prior kennel experience demonstrating responsibility for animal care
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior management skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely, physical stamina for outdoor work and cleaning tasks
• Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and address their concerns professionally
• Familiarity with pet boarding procedures, animal handling protocols, and facility sanitization standards
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
