Kennel Technician

Duties

• Provide attentive pet care, including feeding, administering medications, and monitoring health status
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff.
• Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and trimming to maintain cleanliness and comfort.
• Provide smooth and seamless communication alongside other technicians.
• Engage in pet sitting services, ensuring pets are comfortable and cared for during their stay
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas while adhering to hygiene standards
• Interact positively with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ health and behavior
• Assist with animal handling during intake, examinations, or procedures to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

• Prior experience in veterinary assisting or animal care roles is highly desirable
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and dog handling skills
• Experience with pet grooming or pet sitting is a plus
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills to ensure safety for pets and staff
• Excellent customer service abilities to communicate effectively with pet owners
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for kennel cleaning or equipment setup
• Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience such as being able to tell whenever a dog looks unwell is advantageous
• Willingness to learn new skills related to animal care and behavior management.
• Being bilingual and able to speak and understand Spanish is highly desirable.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
