Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kennel Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the comfort, safety, and cleanliness of our animal boarding facilities while delivering exceptional pet care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, applying your veterinary and animal handling skills to make a positive impact every day.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive pet care, including feeding, watering, exercise, and monitoring health status
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and disinfecting practices
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during boarding and treatment
• Assist with pet grooming, bathing, and basic veterinary procedures as needed
• Support veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or treatments
• Ensure outdoor enclosures are secure and well-maintained for outdoor activities and exercise
• Uphold facility safety standards through heavy lifting, team lifting, and adherence to sanitation protocols

Requirements

• Previous veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly preferred
• Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling is advantageous
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting safely for tasks such as moving supplies or animals
• Strong skills in pet grooming, animal restraint, and behavior management
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors
• Knowledge of animal care best practices including sanitation, pet boarding procedures, and facility sanitization

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
