About the role

PT. Bara Perkasa Investama is seeking a Kepala Laboratorium (Laboratory Manager) to join our operations in Pekanbaru, Riau. This is a contract position that plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of laboratory testing and analysis within our mining and resources operations. This position is essential to maintaining operational excellence and supporting our strategic objectives in the mining and energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance procedures
• Manage and supervise laboratory staff, ensuring proper training, performance evaluation, and adherence to safety protocols
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory testing and analysis activities
• Conduct routine testing and analysis of samples in accordance with industry standards and company requirements
• Maintain detailed laboratory records, test results, and documentation to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance
• Ensure laboratory compliance with relevant mining, environmental, and occupational health and safety regulations
• Identify and resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain quality assurance documentation
• Manage laboratory budget, equipment procurement, and consumable inventory
• Prepare technical reports and provide data analysis to support operational decision-making
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure laboratory testing priorities align with operational needs

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry

• Minimum 3+ years of laboratory management experience, preferably within the mining, resources, or energy sector

• Proven experience in managing laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and quality assurance

• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, analytical procedures, and laboratory best practices

• Familiarity with relevant ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 17025) and industry-specific regulations

• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills with proficiency in data management systems

• Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare clear technical reports

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory management software

• Fluency in Indonesian and English (both written and verbal)

• A commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance
