Kichen/Deli assistant

6th Street Market is seeking a Kitchen/Deli Associate to perform a variety of food preparation tasks. You will be responsible for slicing and portioning meat and cheese, as well as preparing our daily lunch special. You will also prepare a variety of deserts for our fresh desert case. A true team player, you will help us create a harmonious atmosphere and encourage customers to return on a regular basis. Your goal is to ensure that our customers enjoy and appreciate the Deli food selection and acquire the habit of coming back frequently.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and process orders placed by customers via phone and in person.
• Create, prepare and display sandwiches, salads, and desserts.
• Ensure presentation of the product is appealing and appetizing to the customer.
• Provide excellent customer service by treating each customer as a special person with unique needs.
• Resolve problems that may arrive during the ordering/delivery process.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team with other deli associates to ensure that all customers are served quickly and well.
• Follow sanitation guidelines and utilize proper food-handling procedures when preparing food.
• Ensure cleanliness of work area and utensils used to prepare food items.
• Perform other tasks requiring specific knowledge or skills (e.g. maintaining inventory level, pricing products etc.).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
