Daily Operational Routine

Before children arrive

Inspect assigned area, prepare materials and check for hazards

Welcome children, supervise entry and support settling-in

Arrival or handover record, where required

Learning periods

Assist the teacher and maintain supervision

Teacher feedback and observation

Toileting and hygiene

Provide appropriate care and maintain hygiene

Care checklist, where applicable

Meals and snacks

Support safe feeding and hygiene

Meal routine checklist

Playtime and transitions

Maintain active supervision and conduct headcounts

Transition and supervision checks

Rest time, where applicable

Follow approved rest and supervision procedures

Rest-time monitoring record

Dismissal

Verify authorised handover and account for assigned children

Dismissal register or handover record

End of day

Clean and organise assigned area, report concerns and complete records

Closing checklist and incident reports
