Kindergarten Teacher

About the role

Lead a mixed-age Montessori environment (3–5 years) that fosters independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. You will guide students through the "First Plane of Development," utilizing the Montessori method to prepare them socially, emotionally, and academically for the transition to the Cambridge Primary curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a beautiful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate classroom equipped with high-quality Montessori materials (Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, and Culture)
• Deliver individualized and small-group lessons tailored to the distinct needs of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds within the same space
• Maintain meticulous records of each child's progress, "work" choices, and mastery of materials to ensure a personalized learning journey
• Support 5-year-olds in their final kindergarten year to develop the literacy and numeracy foundations required for a smooth transition into Cambridge Stage 1
• Model and teach social graces, conflict resolution, and community responsibility
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences and workshops to educate the ISPG community on the benefits of the Montessori philosophy
• Encourage 5-year-olds to act as leaders and "teachers" for the 3-year-olds
• Extend the Montessori environment into the natural world of Koh Phangan

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• AMI, AMS, or MCI Montessori Certification (specifically for the 3–6 age range) is essential
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a dedicated Montessori classroom
• Experience in an international school setting is preferred
• Deep understanding of the "Sensitive Periods" of development
• Fluency in English (instructional language)
• Ability to work collaboratively with Thai teaching assistants
• Patient, observant, and physically energetic (active movement is a core part of the 3–5 environment)
