Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Aide to support our elementary school’s food service operations. In this role, you will assist with meal preparation, ensure cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, and help create a positive dining experience for students. This position is essential in maintaining a smooth and efficient food service environment within an educational setting.

Duties

• Assist with preparing and serving nutritious meals to elementary school students in accordance with established guidelines.
• Support the cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
• Help with organizing food supplies and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
• Follow safety protocols and health regulations at all times during food handling and kitchen activities.
• Support staff in setting up dining areas and managing student meal times efficiently.
• Perform general cleaning duties to uphold cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen and related spaces.
• Assist with any additional tasks as directed by the kitchen supervisor or school staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and safety standards.
• Good communication skills suitable for working with children, staff, and other team members.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with kitchen work.
• Must demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and a positive attitude towards supporting a school community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Practicing proper personal hygiene and sanitation procedures
• Maintaining a valid Food Handler’s Permit
• Assisting with food preparation
• Performing dishwashing and general cleaning duties
• Demonstrating courtesy, patience, and professionalism with students and staff
• Maintaining a neat, organized, and safe work environment
• Showing reliability in attendance and daily responsibilities
• Lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
• Following directions and working under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
