Kitchen Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen interest in the catering industry. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that all food safety standards are met while assisting with meal preparation and other kitchen tasks.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Support chefs and cooks in various culinary tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained.
• Help with catering events by preparing meals according to specified menus and dietary requirements.
• Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is key.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and catering practices.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as required.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 30.0 per week
