We’re looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the Hive Cafe team!

At Hive Cafe, we’re a casual, welcoming cafe with a busy and fast-paced environment. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, open-minded and friendly, with a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting the kitchen team, helping us deliver great food and a great experience for our customers.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with food preparation and basic cooking
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy service
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
• Ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation are maintained
• Following food safety and HACCP procedures
• Helping with stock rotation and general kitchen duties
• Assisting with washing dishes and keeping the kitchen running smoothly
• Helping serve customers in a friendly and courteous manner when required
• Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment where tables are turned quickly
• Supporting other areas of the cafe when needed
• Working as part of a team and communicating effectively with colleagues

Experience & Skills

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or catering environment
• Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and food preparation
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication are essential

Previous experience is preferred, but we’re also interested in people with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Working at Hive

Hive Cafe is a casual but busy environment. We work at a quick pace, especially during service, and teamwork is a huge part of what we do.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn, develop your kitchen skills and grow with the team along the way.

Pay: £12.71-£18.61 per hour
