Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food and efficient kitchen operations. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment while assisting with food preparation and service.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. You will play a key role in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, especially during busy service periods, by supporting chefs and working collaboratively with the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in line with recipes and kitchen standards
• Support catering operations for events and functions as required
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to meet hygiene standards
• Organise and restock ingredients, assisting with basic inventory management
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed
• Support chefs and other staff during busy periods to ensure timely meal delivery
• Follow all health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a team-focused mindset
• Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and take on new tasks
