The role
The role involves assisting with the preparation of Korean food items, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations are followed at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of fresh Korean food items (e.g. kimbap, banchan, hot food dishes)
• Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients as directed by the kitchen team
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed
• Support stock rotation (FIFO) and monitor ingredient freshness
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
• Clean utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas
• Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain a tidy workspace
• Provide support to team members during busy periods

Responsibilities:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment is preferred but not essential
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices (Level 2 Food Hygiene is an advantage)
• Interest in Korean cuisine is desirable
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, and public holidays on a rota basis
