Kitchen Assistant

We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the kitchen team at Casa Brío.

Casa Brío is a new Spanish-inspired café, tapas bar and wine spot coming to Penwortham. Our kitchen will move from brunch and lunch during the day into tapas and sharing plates in the evening.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised and happy to get stuck in, someone who can keep the kitchen running smoothly while also supporting our chefs with basic food preparation when needed.

The role:

This is a hands-on role that will involve a mixture of kitchen porter and kitchen assistant duties.

You'll be responsible for:

• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
• Washing up and keeping on top of pots, pans and equipment
• Cleaning work surfaces, floors and kitchen equipment
• Emptying bins and managing kitchen waste
• Keeping the kitchen properly stocked and organised
• Helping with deliveries and putting stock away
• Supporting the chefs during busy services
• Assisting with basic food preparation
• Preparing ingredients such as vegetables, herbs and other items as required
• Helping with simple kitchen tasks as your experience develops
• Following food hygiene, cleaning and safety procedures
• Generally being the person who keeps things moving behind the scenes

Who we're looking for:

Previous kitchen experience would be useful, but we're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude.

Pay: NMW hourly rate, dependent on age and experience

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
