Hiring part-time kitchen prep assistant in San Mateo/ Se busca asistente de cocina (Part-Time)

A local, boutique food business crafting artisanal strained yogurt is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented part-time Kitchen Assistant to help with cold-assembly prep, portioning, and packaging at their San Mateo commercial kitchen.

The Role:
Measuring and portioning bases, purees, and toppings using digital scales (grams)

Using ovens and stovetops to cook fruit bases following detailed instructions

Packaging, labeling products, and organizing cold storage

Washing tools and keeping the workspace sanitized

Requirements:

• Comfortable using a digital kitchen scale for accurate measurements
  -Conversational English to follow recipe directions and verbal instructions (does not need to be perfect—just functional kitchen communication)
  -Valid California Food Handler card (or willingness to get one before starting)
  -Ability to stand during shifts and lift up to 40–50 lbs safely
  -Commercial kitchen or food prep experience is a plus, but happy to train someone with great attention to detail and punctuality

Details:
Pay: $20–$23/hour (determined after working interview and will increase after completion of training period)
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 1-5 pm (OK if not able to do all days)
Location: San Mateo
