Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary
The Stagecoach Inn is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support daily food preparation and kitchen operations. This position helps keep ingredients prepared, kitchen stations organized, and food-service areas clean while assisting cooks and other kitchen team members during service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with washing, cutting, portioning, and preparing ingredients.
• Set up ingredients and supplies needed for daily kitchen service.
• Help cooks with basic food preparation and simple kitchen tasks.
• Keep refrigerators, prep areas, and storage spaces organized.
• Restock ingredients, utensils, and kitchen supplies throughout the shift.
• Assist with plating and assembling food as directed by kitchen staff.
• Wash dishes, cookware, and utensils when needed.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, counters, and floors.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and proper food-storage procedures.
• Help receive and organize kitchen deliveries.
• Support the kitchen team during busy periods and complete other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, restaurant, or food-service experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting during a shift.
• Willingness to learn additional kitchen skills.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
