Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary

Dolomiti | Pizzeria & Enoteca is seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant to support cooks and the culinary team with food preparation, stocking, cleaning, and daily kitchen operations. This role is ideal for someone who works well in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping the kitchen organized and service-ready.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks with ingredient preparation, portioning, and basic kitchen tasks.
• Wash, peel, cut, and organize ingredients according to kitchen instructions.
• Prepare food items and components for service as directed by the culinary team.
• Keep workstations stocked with ingredients, containers, and necessary supplies.
• Support cooks during busy service periods to maintain efficient order flow.
• Clean and sanitize preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and kitchen surfaces.
• Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools when needed.
• Store ingredients properly and follow food-safety and sanitation procedures.
• Remove trash and maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other daily kitchen duties as assigned.
• Communicate supply shortages or kitchen concerns to the appropriate team member.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, restaurant, food-service, or food-preparation experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a culinary team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food quality.
• Dependable attendance and a positive work ethic.
• Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move kitchen supplies safely.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Food-handler certification is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 per week
