Job Description & Person Specification

BGirl’s Kitchen is looking for reliable, organised and hardworking Kitchen Assistants to support our fast-paced Afro-Caribbean takeaway operations.

The successful candidate will assist with daily kitchen preparation, order management, customer service and maintaining a clean, efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Kitchen Cook with food preparation, portioning and plating.
• Receive, process and organise customer orders accurately.
• Operate Uber Eats, Deliveroo and website order systems.
• Manage customer collections and courier handovers.
• Prepare packaging, sauces, garnishes and other items required for service.
• Maintain clean workstations, equipment and food preparation areas.
• Wash utensils, clean equipment and complete daily cleaning duties.
• Monitor supplies, organise stock and assist with stock rotation.
• Complete kitchen opening and closing checklists.
• Work efficiently with the Kitchen Cook to ensure orders are ready on time.

Person Specification

• Previous experience in a takeaway, restaurant, kitchen or food service environment is required.
• Confident using tablets and digital ordering systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Able to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Organised, attentive to detail and able to follow instructions.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness.
• Reliable, punctual and comfortable working in a small team.
• Available for the selected fixed weekly rota, including evenings and weekends where applicable.

Recruitment Process

Suitable applicants may be invited to an observation kitchen shadowing session.

Pay: £12.75 per hour

Expected hours: 13.5 – 18.0 per week
