Kitchen Assistant

We’re looking for a part-time Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking kitchen team at The Rising Sun.

This role is for 18.5 hours per week, working a fixed two-week rotating shift pattern as follows:

Week 1

• Tuesday: 10:30am–2:30pm & 5:30pm–9:30pm (split shift)
• Thursday: 10:30am–2:30pm
• Sunday: 1pm–7:30pm

Week 2

• Thursday: 10:30am–2:30pm
• Saturday: 11am–3pm & 5:30pm–9:30pm (split shift)
• Sunday: 1pm–7:30pm

We're seeking someone with at least 1 year's kitchen experience and a good understanding of food preparation and cooking.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the chefs with food preparation and cooking
• Preparing and plating dishes to a high standard
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness
• General kitchen duties, including cleaning and organisation
• Assisting with the smooth running of kitchen service
• Occasional help with table service as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year's experience working in a kitchen
• Basic cooking knowledge and food preparation skills
• Enthusiastic, reliable and a good team player
• Able to work efficiently in a busy environment
• Available to work the advertised rotating shift pattern
• Flexibility to work additional hours when required
