Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary

Naked Farmer is seeking a dependable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to support daily food preparation and kitchen operations at its Downtown Miami location. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, values cleanliness, and wants to develop practical culinary skills in a farm-to-table restaurant. The Kitchen Assistant will help prepare ingredients, organize supplies, maintain sanitary workstations, and support the kitchen team in delivering fresh, made-from-scratch meals efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, and other fresh ingredients.
• Assist cooks and prep team members with preparing ingredients for daily menu items.
• Measure ingredients and follow preparation instructions and established recipes.
• Organize food supplies and replenish kitchen stations during service.
• Label, date, store, and rotate ingredients according to food-safety procedures.
• Clean and sanitize countertops, utensils, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing ingredients in storage areas.
• Follow safe food-handling procedures and prevent cross-contamination.
• Monitor ingredient levels and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
• Help minimize food waste through careful preparation and proper storage.
• Support opening, closing, and routine kitchen cleaning duties.
• Work collaboratively with cooks and other team members to maintain efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Interest in cooking, food preparation, and fresh ingredients.
• Ability to follow instructions and established kitchen procedures.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Previous kitchen, prep cook, or food-service experience is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn knife skills, ingredient preparation, and kitchen equipment procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or carry routine supplies.
• Availability for scheduled shifts, including weekends when required.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
