Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will support the daily operations of our kitchen, assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring that all residents receive nutritious and well-presented meals. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about catering, cooking, and providing exceptional service in a caring environment.

Duties

• Assist with meal preparation and food service to residents, ensuring meals are prepared according to dietary requirements and safety standards
• Support the kitchen team in food safety practices, including proper storage, handling, and cleanliness procedures
• Help with food prep tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
• Support serving meals to residents in a friendly and respectful manner, ensuring timely delivery
• Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and hygiene standards
• Assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Experience

• Previous experience in catering or restaurant environments is highly desirable
• Familiarity with food preparation, meal service, and kitchen safety protocols
• Experience working in a healthcare or residential care setting is a plus but not essential
• Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for maintaining hygiene in a kitchen setting
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 18.0 per week
