Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary

10am-2pm

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a kitchen assistant at our residential care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, assisting and guidance from the main cook. This will include tea trolley administration 10.30am & 1.30pm, setting tables for lunch, cleaning of the kitchen and assistance to dish up meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
• Assist in meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, or dinner service
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
• Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotated appropriately to prevent waste
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Serve meals efficiently and courteously to care

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment
• Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practice.
• Excellent attention to detail when preparing meals and maintaining cleanliness
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility to adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting
• Previous experience in meal preparation, culinary roles, or serving is highly desirable

Hours

• Weekday Shift Timings: 10am-2pm
• 12 hours per week including alternate weekends
