AKASAKA Northampton — Kitchen Staff / Kitchen Assistant

AKASAKA is a Korean and Japanese restaurant with locations in Central Milton Keynes (CMK) and Northampton. We specialise in Korean food and BBQ, as well as handmade sushi and other Japanese dishes.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and positive individual to join our kitchen team at AKASAKA Northampton.

Location: 23 Castilian Street, Northampton
Pay: £12.71 per hour + tips (up to £2.00 per hour)
Hours: Part-time
Employment Type: Permanent, in-person

Positions Available

Main Duties

• Preparing food and carrying out basic cooking tasks.
• Preparing dishes to a high standard.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
• Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Supporting chefs and other kitchen staff during busy periods.
• Organising stock and assisting with kitchen preparation and setup.
• Following all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures.
• Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean, organised, and ready for service.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an Asian kitchen or food preparation is preferred but not essential.
• A reliable, hardworking, and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.

About the Role

Previous kitchen or food-preparation experience is welcome but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate.
