Job Overview

We’re looking for a reliable and hard-working Chef / Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Postbox Sports Bar in Newbury.

Our kitchen serves classic sports bar favourites including wings, burgers and wraps, alongside freshly battered fish & chips on Fridays and popular Sunday roasts.

Experience in a kitchen is preferred, but attitude is more important to us than qualifications. Full training can be provided for the right person. We’re looking for someone who works well under pressure, has a good attitude, stays calm during busy periods and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.

Applicants should hold a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate and have their own chef clothing ready to start work.

We have full and part time, permanent positions with flexible hours, that include daytimes, evenings and weekends.

Duties

• Assist with meal preparation and food presentation, ensuring dishes meet consistent quality standards
• Support the kitchen team in food safety and hygiene practices, including cleaning and sanitising work surfaces and equipment
• Prepare ingredients for service
• Help with the organisation of ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Serve food to customers or staff as required, maintaining excellent customer service standards
• Follow recipes accurately
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: £10.85-£13.00 per hour
