The successful candidate will support our chefs with washing up, cleaning, basic food preparation and general kitchen duties, helping to ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently during service.

We are looking for someone dependable, motivated and willing to take on new responsibilities as they gain experience.

- Kitchen Cleaning: Keeping kitchen workspaces, floors, preparation areas and equipment clean and hygienic.
- Food Preparation: Assisting chefs with basic preparation tasks, including washing, peeling and chopping vegetables.
- Kitchen Support: Helping chefs and other kitchen team members with daily tasks to maintain efficient operations.
- Fryer Chef Training: Learning to operate kitchen fryers safely and preparing menu items to the restaurant’s standards, following appropriate training.
- Stock and Deliveries: Helping receive, unpack, organise and store food supplies correctly.
- Waste Management: Disposing of waste responsibly and keeping waste areas clean.
- Food Safety: Following food hygiene procedures, cleaning schedules and health and safety requirements.
- Equipment Care: Cleaning kitchen equipment and reporting faults or maintenance issues.
- Teamwork: Working closely with chefs, front-of-house staff and management to ensure smooth restaurant service.
- Takeaway Order Packing: Accurately pack and prepare takeaway orders for collection and delivery, ensuring all items, sauces, sides and accompaniments are included. Check orders for accuracy, use suitable food packaging, and ensure orders are presented neatly and ready for dispatch.
- Busy Service Support: Staying organised and working efficiently during busy periods.

Applicants should have:

- A willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- The ability to carry out physical tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work weekends, including bank holidays and public holidays.
- Reliable arrangements for travelling to and from the restaurant for scheduled shifts.
- A responsible approach to food safety and workplace health and safety.
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is an advantage but is not essential, as training can be provided.
