Job Purpose

The Kitchen Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards of quality, taste, presentation, hygiene, and consistency. The position supports the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen while ensuring compliance with UAE hotel standards, food safety regulations, and established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes, menus, and hotel standards.
• Ensure consistent quality, taste, portion size, and presentation of all dishes.
• Carry out daily mise en place and ensure all ingredients are prepared and available as required.
• Check the quality, freshness, and proper storage of food items before use.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation in accordance with UAE food safety requirements.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of food products.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Minimize food wastage through proper preparation, portion control, and storage practices.
• Assist with stock control and report shortages, spoilage, or quality issues to the Hotel GM.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
• Work closely with the Kitchen & F&B team to ensure timely preparation and service of food.
• Follow all hotel policies, procedures, HACCP requirements, and health and safety standards.
• Support other kitchen sections and assist with special functions, events, and banquet operations when required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and comply with hotel grooming and uniform standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Hotel GM.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Chef or Kitchen Chef in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment.
• Culinary qualification or professional culinary training is preferred.
• Previous experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of international and/or relevant cuisine and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Good understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation procedures.
• Having previously/currently passed the GHP and HACCP with a certificate is an advantage
• Must be present in the UAE.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
