ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
• Follow food safety and health regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures
• Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and supplies before service
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control to ensure consistency
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with inventory management, including rotating stock and notifying management of shortages
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining accuracy and speed
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth daily operations
• Help with prep work, cleaning, and closing duties as assigned
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team-oriented work environment
• Welcome creativity and assist with new menu ideas when appropriate

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions while maintaining food quality standards
• ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous cook, line cook, prep cook, or kitchen experience

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Five years of kitchen or food service experience or the equivalent
• Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion guidelines
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40–50 pounds
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Must be able to safely operate standard kitchen equipment and tools
• SERV Safe certification preferred or willingness to obtain after hire

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40–50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
• Ability to safely use knives, kitchen equipment, and cooking appliances by using safety gear
• Visual ability to read tickets, recipes, labels, and safety
• Ability to move quickly and safely around the store
