Kitchen Designer/Sales

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate, creative and customer-focused Kitchen Designer to join the Kutchenhaus team, working mainly in our Beckenham showroom, supporting Orpington and Sevenoaks.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with customers to understand their needs, bring their ideas to life and create beautiful, practical kitchen and living spaces.

You will be responsible for guiding customers throughout their design journey — from the initial consultation and understanding their requirements, through to creating detailed designs and helping them make informed decisions about their new space.

As the role covers multiple showroom locations, flexibility and a willingness to work across the different sites is essential

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Design

• Welcome and engage with customers in the showroom, creating a warm and professional experience.
• Meet with customers to understand their lifestyle, requirements, preferences and budget.
• Provide expert advice on kitchen and living space design, layout, functionality, finishes and appliances.
• Create inspirational and practical kitchen designs tailored to each customer's needs.
• Produce detailed designs, plans, quotations and presentations using the company's design software.
• Guide customers through product choices, materials, colours, finishes, appliances and accessories.
• Present designs confidently and make amendments based on customer feedback.
• Build strong relationships with customers throughout the sales and design process.
• Follow up with customers and manage enquiries to help progress opportunities through to sale.
• Work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure a smooth customer journey.

Showroom Standards

• Maintain an exceptional standard of presentation across all showroom areas.
• Ensure displays, kitchens, living spaces, samples and merchandising are clean, organised and presented to the highest standard.
• Keep customer areas welcoming, inspirational and fully prepared for appointments.
• Ensure showroom displays and promotional materials are kept up to date.
• Take responsibility for maintaining high standards across each showroom when working there.

Sales & Commercial

• Develop customer enquiries into successful kitchen and living space projects.
• Prepare accurate quotations and ensure customers understand the products and costs involved.
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional products and services where appropriate.
• Work towards agreed individual and showroom sales targets.
• Maintain accurate customer records and follow up on outstanding enquiries.
• Keep up to date with Kutchenhaus products, promotions and new design trends.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Creative and design-focused, with a strong eye for detail.
• Customer-oriented, with the ability to build rapport and understand different customer needs.
• Confident communicating with customers both face-to-face and by telephone.
• Comfortable presenting ideas and explaining design concepts.
• Commercially aware and motivated by achieving results.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple customers and projects.
• Passionate about interiors, kitchens, architecture or home design.
• Confident using computers and design software.
• Works well independently, as well as part of a team
• Professional, approachable and able to represent the Kutchenhaus brand positively.

Experience

Previous experience in kitchen design, fitted furniture, interior design, bathrooms, bedrooms or a similar customer-facing design/sales environment would be advantageous.

Experience with winner design software is desirable, although training will be provided for the right candidate.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in design and interiors who enjoys helping customers create their ideal home.

Working Hours

39 hours per week

The role will include weekend working as part of the showroom's opening hours, with the working pattern agreed as part of the rota.
