About the role

This is a technical checking and processing role. Our kitchens are already designed; your job is to make sure the drawings and specifications are accurate, practical and ready for manufacture.

You will be responsible for:

• Checking completed kitchen drawings, plans, elevations and specifications
• Checking dimensions, cabinetry, clearances, appliances and services
• Identifying discrepancies, missing information and potential manufacturing or installation issues
• Checking hardware, accessories and construction details
• Reading appliance and accessory technical manuals and installation instructions
• Ensuring designs are practical to manufacture and install
• Working with the design and production teams to resolve technical issues
• Taking ownership of the technical accuracy of each job

About you

• Custom kitchen experience is essential
• Currently or recently working in custom kitchen or custom joinery technical processing
• Strong knowledge of custom kitchen construction
• Experience with a range of materials including laminate, lacquer, veneer, stone and other cabinetry finishes
• Good understanding of kitchen hardware, appliances and accessories
• Strong technical drawing and plan-reading skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Practical common sense and strong problem-solving skills
• A solutions-focused approach
• Confidence to question details and find practical solutions

Software

Homag iX / iX Plan experience is preferred.

AutoCAD or other relevant CAD/joinery software experience will also be considered. You don't need to be a kitchen designer or drafter, but you must be confident reading and technically checking kitchen drawings.

The Right Person

We're looking for someone who can look at a kitchen drawing and think:

"Will this actually work when we manufacture and install it?"

Someone who can spot issues early, find solutions and help ensure we get it right before it reaches the factory.

Flexible Working

We are open to part-time, full-time or contractor arrangements.

The role is preferably Whanganui-based, with some flexibility around the working arrangement for the right person to be based elsewhere in NZ.
