Tired of the same old 9-to-5? Ready to get your hands dirty and learn a valuable trade?
Koorsen Environmental Services is looking for dependable, motivated, hardworking individuals to join our team as Assistant Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technicians!
This isn't your typical cleaning job, and it's definitely not a desk job! This career is backed by NFPA and Local Fire Codes, which ensures potential growth and Job Security!
Our technicians work behind the scenes in commercial kitchens, restaurants, and other facilities, helping keep kitchen exhaust systems clean and reducing grease-related fire hazards.
You'll work alongside an experienced Lead Technician, travel to different customer locations, operate professional cleaning equipment, and learn specialized skills in the kitchen exhaust cleaning industry.
Don't have experience? That's okay! We're looking for individuals who are eager to learn, take pride in their work, and aren't afraid of a little hard work.
What You'll Be Doing:
As an Assistant Technician, you'll be an important part of a two-person field crew responsible for providing professional kitchen exhaust cleaning services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Technician with commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning services.
- Help set up and tear down jobsite protection, equipment, hoses, chemicals, and supplies.
- Assist with cleaning kitchen hoods, filters, plenum areas, accessible ductwork, exhaust fans, curbs, and other related system components.
- Learn to safely operate pressure washers, hand tools, and professional cleaning equipment.
- Follow company safety procedures, including proper PPE use, ladder safety, chemical handling, and commercial cleaning practices.
- Assist with taking before, during, and after photos to document completed services.
- Help identify and report deficiencies, inaccessible areas, incomplete cleaning, unsafe conditions, and customer concerns.
- Maintain a professional, respectful attitude when interacting with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and management.
- Keep work areas clean, protect customer property, and ensure customer areas are properly cleaned and restored after service.
- Follow instructions from the Lead Technician, Night Field Supervisor, and Service Manager.
- Assist with loading, unloading, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining company equipment and supplies.
- Support your crew in completing jobs safely, efficiently, and to Koorsen's quality standards.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to be an expert in kitchen exhaust cleaning to get started. We provide job-specific training and the opportunity to develop technical skills.
What matters most is that you're dependable, willing to learn, safety-conscious, and ready to work as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements:

- Must be available to work overnight shifts within our 6:00 PM–6:00 AM service window.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be physically capable of standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, carrying equipment, pressure washing, and performing hands-on cleaning tasks in commercial kitchen environments.
- Must be comfortable working in active commercial kitchen environments and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Must be able to operate a smartphone for calls, emails, photographs, and company applications.
- Must have good communication and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to learn technical skills related to kitchen exhaust cleaning, equipment maintenance, and industry safety standards.
- Must be willing to learn and follow company safety procedures, including PPE use, ladder safety, chemical handling, and cleaning equipment operation.
