Kitchen Hand

LiHO Shokudo is looking for a reliable Kitchen Hand to support our kitchen team in Burwood. This role suits someone who wants to build a career in Japanese cooking, with on-the-job training and the opportunity to progress toward commis chef responsibilities as your skills grow.

What you’ll do

• Keep the kitchen, equipment and work areas clean and organised
• Wash dishes and support the team during service
• Assist with basic food preparation, portioning and mise en place
• Follow food safety, hygiene and safe-work procedures
• Learn basic cooking tasks under the guidance of our chefs

What we’re looking for

• A positive, dependable team member who works well in a busy kitchen
• Willingness to learn Japanese ingredients, preparation and cooking methods
• Good attention to cleanliness and food safety
• Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential
