Casual Position

Ember Byron Bay is looking for a kitchenhand or Kitchenhand/Cook to join our team.

We’re a restaurant grown through great produce, fire, meat, wine and seriously good hospitality — and we’re looking for people who are passionate about what they do.

This is a casual position suited to a who wants to work where they are respected & appreciated in a professional, high-quality kitchen without the ego.

THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for supporting the kitchen team daily ensuring a smooth operational flow.

You'll be involved in:

• Kitchen washup & some food preparation and service (cook only)
• Working cleanly and efficiently throughout service
• Stock preparation, rotation and minimising waste
• Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
• Contributing to a positive and professional kitchen culture

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need to be a superstar — but you do need to care.

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous commercial kitchen experience (helps but not essential)
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene (or can be taught quickly)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work calmly under pressure
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Good communication and teamwork
• A willingness to learn and improve
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
