About the role

Rustico Gourmet is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. This is a casual position based in Riverton, WA. You will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organisation and efficiency of our kitchen operations, ensuring our chefs and cooking staff can focus on delivering exceptional meals to our customers. This position is essential to the smooth running of our hospitality business and directly contributes to the quality of service we provide.

What you'll be doing

• Washing and sanitising all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and glassware to maintain strict hygiene standards
• Keeping the kitchen clean and organised, including sweeping, mopping and sanitising work surfaces and floors
• Assisting with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients under the guidance of kitchen staff
• Managing and organising kitchen waste disposal in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Loading and operating dishwashing machines efficiently and safely
• Restocking kitchen supplies and maintaining inventory of cleaning and consumable items
• Supporting the kitchen team with general duties to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods
• Following all health, safety and food handling procedures at all times

What we're looking for

• Reliability and punctuality, as your attendance directly impacts kitchen operations
• Physical stamina to handle standing for extended periods and working with hot water and equipment
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills for following instructions and safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior kitchen staff
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided to suitable candidates
• A valid Australian Working Rights document is required
