Kitchen Helper

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join the team at zen ent sdn bhd. This is a full-time position based in Puchong, Selangor. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play an essential role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that food is prepared efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Your contribution will be vital to maintaining the smooth running of our kitchen and delivering an excellent experience to our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and sorting ingredients
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Organising and storing food items, ingredients, and supplies in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Supporting the cooking staff by fetching and preparing mise en place (ingredients and equipment needed for cooking)
• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors safely and effectively
• Assisting with stock rotation and inventory management
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment at all times
• Following food safety and hygiene protocols and regulations
• Supporting the wider kitchen team to meet service demands during busy periods

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a busy hospitality setting
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and respond well to pressure
• Good teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to support colleagues
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Reliability and punctuality
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required
