kitchen helper

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our Chinese dessert kitchen specialising in freshly prepared black sesame paste, traditional tong sui, tofu pudding and other simple food items.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, weighing, measuring and portioning them according to recipes.
• Assist with the preparation of black sesame desserts, traditional tong sui, tofu pudding and other menu items.
• Operate kitchen equipment after training, including the iVario, iCombi, Bot-in-Kit and blast chiller.
• Portion, label, chill, store and rotate prepared food properly.
• Must be comfortable following gram-based recipes and production SOPs exactly. No ingredient substitutions, quantity changes or recipe adjustments without approval.
• Reheat, assemble and prepare menu items for service.
• Wash bowls, utensils, trays, pots and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain the cleanliness of workbenches, floors, sinks, storage areas and equipment.
• Receive supplies and arrange ingredients neatly using FIFO stock rotation.
• Follow all food-safety, personal-hygiene and workplace-safety procedures.
• Inform the kitchen supervisor immediately of any quality, stock or equipment problems.
• Assist with other reasonable kitchen duties when required.

Requirements

• Kitchen experience is helpful but not essential; training will be provided.

• Basic ENGLISH or Chinese Communication Skills

• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.

• Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

• Comfortable with repetitive preparation and cleaning work.

• Able to stand for extended periods and safely carry kitchen supplies.

• Able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

• Must maintain good personal hygiene and a clean working area.

• Food-handling certification is preferred or must be obtained if required.

• Availability for weekends, public holidays and evening shifts is preferred.
