Job Summary

Pasture Birmingham is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support the kitchen team with food preparation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties. The successful candidate will help maintain an organised and hygienic kitchen while supporting chefs and other kitchen staff during busy service periods.

Job Description

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with daily food preparation.
• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients as required.
• Prepare basic ingredients and food items according to kitchen instructions.
• Keep kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organised.
• Assist with washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Check ingredients for quality and freshness.
• Help receive, store, label, and rotate food supplies.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Help maintain stock levels and report low supplies.
• Minimise food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
• Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen cleaning duties.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, restaurant, or food service experience is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organisation.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team.

Pay: £16.00-£24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 per week
