Kitchen Helper

Harvard Gardens is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen and restaurant operations. This role involves assisting with basic food preparation, organizing ingredients and supplies, maintaining clean workstations, and supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and routine kitchen tasks according to established procedures.
• Wash, peel, cut, portion, and organize ingredients as directed by kitchen staff.
• Prepare ingredients and supplies for daily restaurant service.
• Help assemble food orders accurately and efficiently.
• Follow recipe instructions, portion guidelines, and food-quality standards.
• Keep kitchen workstations, counters, and preparation areas clean and organized.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Monitor and replenish ingredients, packaging, and kitchen supplies.
• Assist cooks and kitchen team members during busy service periods.
• Communicate order details and supply needs clearly with kitchen and service staff.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies as assigned.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and routine daily kitchen responsibilities.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen and restaurant team members.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, restaurant, café, or food-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly, dependable, and professional approach to work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good attention to cleanliness, food safety, and preparation details.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
