Job Summary

Moon's Kitchen Cafe is looking for a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will assist with ingredient preparation, maintain clean workstations, organize kitchen supplies, and help the kitchen team prepare meals efficiently. This position is suitable for someone who enjoys working in a team-oriented food service environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks with basic food preparation and ingredient handling.
• Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients as directed.
• Organize and restock kitchen supplies and preparation stations.
• Keep countertops, utensils, cookware, and equipment clean.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
• Help receive, store, and rotate food supplies.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils when needed.
• Remove trash and maintain clean kitchen floors and work areas.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine cleaning duties.
• Communicate with kitchen team members to support smooth operations.
• Follow instructions from cooks and kitchen supervisors.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn food preparation and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
• Reliable attendance and a positive work attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift kitchen supplies.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
