Job Summary

KITCH Meals is hiring a Kitchen Helper to support daily food preparation, kitchen organization, cleaning, and meal production activities. This role assists cooks and kitchen staff with preparing ingredients, organizing supplies, maintaining sanitation standards, and helping ensure meals are prepared efficiently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning food items
• Support cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks
• Help assemble and package meals according to instructions
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workstations
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
• Restock ingredients, packaging, cleaning supplies, and kitchen materials
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and organizing food deliveries
• Label, rotate, and store food items according to food safety procedures
• Clean counters, sinks, floors, and food preparation surfaces
• Remove trash and maintain clean waste disposal areas
• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Report low supplies, damaged equipment, or kitchen concerns to supervisors
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine kitchen preparation tasks
• Perform additional kitchen support duties assigned by management

Requirements

• Previous kitchen, restaurant, meal preparation, or food service experience is an asset but not required
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and safe food handling
• Ability to follow instructions and established kitchen procedures
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads safely

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen or meal production environment
• Familiarity with kitchen tools and food preparation equipment
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to multitask during busy meal preparation periods
• Good teamwork and communication abilities
