Job Summary

Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will help kitchen staff prepare ingredients, organize supplies, maintain cleanliness, and keep food preparation areas running smoothly during busy service periods.

This position is suitable for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, follows instructions carefully, and takes food safety and sanitation seriously. Previous kitchen experience is helpful, but a motivated applicant who is willing to learn may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks.
• Wash, peel, cut, and portion vegetables and other ingredients as directed.
• Organize ingredients and supplies for pizza and other menu preparations.
• Refill food preparation stations and notify the team when supplies are running low.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Clean and sanitize counters, preparation surfaces, and kitchen work areas.
• Store ingredients properly and follow food safety and storage procedures.
• Help receive and organize deliveries when assigned.
• Maintain a tidy kitchen and dispose of waste according to established procedures.
• Support cooks and other kitchen team members during busy service periods.
• Follow workplace safety rules and use kitchen equipment responsibly.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine cleaning duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with kitchen staff.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness and food safety practices, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Previous kitchen helper, dishwasher, or food preparation experience is an advantage but may not be required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine kitchen duties.
• Ability to lift and move typical kitchen supplies safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
• Availability for assigned shifts, including evenings and weekends when required.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
